Disney - Here We Come!!!

I booked the new flights today and actually ended up paying LESS!!! Finally, some good luck for us. It's only about $10.00 less, but consdering I was planning on having to spend about $300.00 more - I'm syked!!! Plus, we are leaving from Newark instead of Laguardia, so that's saves us about a hour driving each way.
So, the countdown begins - only 66 more days!!

OK, Well I booked my Disney vacation about 2 weeks ago. We are going in May and I can't wait. I need a vacation bad!!!! Anyway, I get an email today saying my flights have changed - no big deal right, happens all the time - so, when I checked the new info, expecting to see it had changed by 10 minutes or so, it had changed by 3 HOURS each way! So, the new times are impossible. I called the airline (won't mention which) and they said they have revamped their schedules, and won't be flying to Orlando at that time anymore. UGGHH!!! Well, they did agree to give me a refund, but now, as I check for new flights, it looks like we are going to have to spend another $300 - $400 for the flights. THIS SUCKS!!!

Oh well, nothing is going to ruin this vaca. We are going no matter what. Donny is set to start the PA in June, so it will be a while before we get much family time.

Watch out Mickey - here we come!!!

Get to Know ME and My WORK

OK, so this will be a short one, cuz my work is not that interesting. I am currently a full-time paralegal, but very much would like to be a SAHM. Just not in the cards right now, but hopefully, my husband will be starting the police academy soon, and once he is done, I can stay home.

Anyhoo, I have been employed by the same attorney for about 9 years now. We used to be part of a firm, but he left there about 1 1/2 years ago and I took the chance and went with him. It was a little scary at first, as we didn't know if he was going to make it on his own, but it has worked out great and he is doing great business and I am much happier now that I don't have to deal with all the office DRAMA.

We are basically a general law type office - a lot of personal injury and workers' comp, but we also do municipal, criminal, and more recently, Real Estate, which I must say is NOT EASY.

That's about it - like I said, not very interesting.

Time to Get to Know ME and my FAMILY

Well, now that I've figured out how to set up my blog (and I think it's actually working), I guess I should get to blogging . . .

I'm Betsy. I am 34 and live in Jersey with my husband, Don. I have pretty much lived in Jersey my whole life, except the first 6 years of my life, and another year when I was about 24, which I lived in CA.

Donny and I have known each other since we were 13 years old. We were each others first love. Then we dated a bit in high school and went our seperate ways for college. We met up again at a party about 6 years ago, and have been together ever since. We have been married a little over 4 years (it was 4 in October).

I have 2 beautiful sons, Jake, who is 2 1/2 and Nicholas, who just turned 1 in December. We named him Nicholas because he was actually due on December 26th, and I thought Nicholas was a nice Christmasy name - as in St. Nick. Well, he came 3 weeks early, but the name stuck. Jake was just a name that I have always loved and thankfully, Donny liked it too!

My 17 year old sister, Chrissy, also lives with us. She was removed from her home by Child Services, about 3 years ago, along with my brother, Gary. They came to live with us just before Jake was born. It has not been easy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. They have always been great kids, and I could not bear the thought of them going back to that place, or living in foster care.

Unfortunately, Gary was killed in a car accident in October, 2004 - right before Nicky was born. Nicky's middle name is Gary, after the uncle he never knew.
That was probably the hardest time in my life, to date, and I'm sure I will have much more to say about it in the future.

But for now, that's my family . . .
